Coming together
Spent a long day out campaigning today and the more I’m out there the more I appreciate the different people who make up this County. The people I’m meeting are thoughtful, concerned, and involved people. They come from every walk of life and every age, ethnic, and economic background. They all have certain things in common — they are concerned about the budget crisis in local government; they are concerned about the attitude of elected officials toward the public once they are in office; and they are concerned about our ability to weather the storm.
I know we can weather the storm but we have to work together. I know we can address the budget crisis successfully but we will have to adopt an attitude that makes our work a personal commitment to effectiveness and efficiency. I know we can keep an open communication between the public and the officers of government. I am dedicated to working hard with others in an open dialogue to bring this great County and the people who live here through the next four years of challenges.
